How do I get started researching my family history?
If you want to find information about how to get started on researching your family history please look at the following articles on our websites:
Researching your Genealogy
Grant DNA Project
It is worth noting that the Grantown Museum is about to have a special research room set up for Clan Grant, so you can book a session there if you are visiting the area – tel: 01479 872478 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
How do I arrange a visit to the Clan Grant Centre at Duthil?
If you are planning a visit to Scotland and you would like to visit the Clan Grant Centre at Duthil, please contact the Grantown Museum on Tel: 01479 872478 or email: email@example.com , and they can arrange this for you.
It might be possible for you to visit the Chief at the same time but please note that although he would be very happy to see you, he may not always be available.
We are visiting Scotland in August and wondered if we can join in with the Clan Grant Gathering events?
We have an annual clan get together on the second weekend in August – See our Gathering webpage for details. You are welcome to come and join us in the Clan Tent at the Abernethy Highland Games on the Saturday.
If you want to join us for the Clan Gathering Dinner and Ceilidh on the Saturday evening after the Games, you can book a place in advance on this website. We are sorry that we cannot take bookings for this at the Games.
What events will be available during the International Gathering in August 2020?
If you are planning to come to our International Event in August 2020, we will shortly have the suggested programme up on both our websites. This will include a list of the main joint events and suggestions for other visits that you might like to explore. We will follow this up with a booking form, which will include prices to be paid in advance by our Paypal payment facility, for whichever activities you wish to take part in.
As I am sure you can imagine, organising an event like 2020, will take a considerable amount of work and cost. All access to events, apart from the Games at Nethy Bridge will need to be booked using a special 2020 ticket that will be checked by us when we meet you. This will enable us to set up the background services that need to be in place in order to make it all happen.
